Wool pads - super fast defect removal, rotary buffer use only, best for applications when fast paint removal is needed, like sanding mark removal/ deep scratches. Wool pads combined with aggressive liquids may leave their own defects: swirls, holograms, haze.
Meguiar's wool pads (from most to least aggressive): W5000 Wool double sided pad, So1o Burgundy aggressive wool pad, W4000 single sided wool pad, So1o yellow light cut wool pad.
Foam pads - available in many aggressiveness levels: from cutting to super light finishing. Foam cutting pads cut at slower rates than wool pads but they can be used with all machine types: rotary, dual action and orbital.
Meguiar's foam pads (from most to least aggressive): burgundy cutting pad, yellow polishing pad, black/tan finishing pad.
Microfiber discs (cutting/finishing) - great way to increase cut, when working with dual action polishers, is to use Meguiar's DA Microfiber Correction System which is a 2- or 1-step correcting system containing D300 Correction Compound and D301 Finishing Wax.
