  • Show Car Glaze 7

Hi guys, this is my first question; sorry for my english.

    I have a brand new Opel Astra ( Black). My first detailing try was 2 months ago. I used theese producs;

    Meguiars clay bar
    Meguiars show car glaze 7
    Collinite#915

My question is, 2 monts later from first try, the wax disppeard from hood ant the top of the car. (I tought this happens because of the sun.)
And also after detailing my car collect too much dust.

What can I do for dust?

Are Show car glaze and collinite suitable for eachother? Why the wax disappard quickly. I( I only washedmy car just with water)

    Thanks From Turkey

    Welcome to Meguiar's Online, Aykut.

To guarantee a maximum protection of your wax you need to prepare your paint surface by:
    1. washing and claying,
    2. cleaning/ polishing.

M07 Show Car Glaze is a pure polish, no cleaners.

You could use Ultimate Polish instead, which has mild cleaning ability, or one of cleaner waxes, like A12 Cleaner Wax or ColorX. If you see swirls or scratches on your paint some stronger product will be needed, like SwirlX or Ultimate Compound.

Next time apply two coats of wax to ensure nice and uniform coverage and use gently car wash, like Meguiar's Gold Class Shampoo & Conditioner, which will not strip wax protection. Use Ultimate Quik Wax (spray wax) after you wash your vehicle and add extra protection.

Environment, in which you keep your car, will also determine your wax durability. If your car is a daily driver exposed to contaminants every day your wax will last less. If you keep it in a garage and rarely drive then expect much longer protection.

Thanks For your quick answer, I'll try polishing before glazing next time.

But what about quickly collecting dust? Haw can we solve the problem.

If you can find one or similar product, get a California Duster and dust often. Perhaps twice a day. You want to keep the dust quantity to a minimum. Also if you can get your hands on Ultimate Quik Detailer, use it regularly to wipe down the car with a quality microfiber. Don't use a microfiber by itself, doing so seems to create static electricity which will attract dust.

You will soon recognize when you should wash rather than dust, following Greg's suggestions.
