  • U/C and rotary I searched

Hi, I have been using uc on a rotary for a while now. I am wondering why it is not recommended to be used with a rotary? I know that m205 is what is recommended with a rotary but at first I could not find it. When I did find it I thought it was a bit expensive. The uc seems to have worked fine for me on the 6 or 7 cars ive used it on. But wondering if I am leaving something on the table by not using 205 instead? Im not a pro. Am I possibly doing any damage using u/c with a rotary? I have searched a ton of ultimate copound threads and did not see anyone ask this. Thanks for any help.

Re: U/C and rotary I searched

UC and 205 are very different products................

UC is truly a compound in the sense that it is capable of removing heavy defects.

205 is a finishing polish designed as a follow up to a compounding step.

If UC works by rotary for you then feel free to use it! However, if a technique is questionable in Meguiar's mind then they will not suggest it.

But, once again, if it works, keep going!

If you are not a pro, are you just doing your own car?

One would have to ask why you need UC and a rotary every time?

Thanks for the replies. I cant believe I said m205. I meant m105. Yes shawnT I was wondering why megs has not recommended ultimate compound with a rotary. Just wanted to be sure I was not doing something wrong. Seems to work very well. Thanks. I dont use a rotary and uc everytime, just the cars that need it.

Just wanted to add that I was using mostly a lake country yellow polishing pad 46-676vc most of the time with the rotary and ultimate compound.
