    There is a bit of a technique to learn. Too little lube, it will grab the surface and smear the clay; too much, and you don't clean anything. Try small test spots until you get the "feel" of it. And per earlier posts, make sure you're not just feeling bumps caused by sandblasting while driving on the highway...

      when i needed to CLAY it was usually only on roof or hood of my trucks.
      sides never felt rough.
      its funny, i used ULTIMATE CLEANER on my roof and hood. roof came out slick and hood was rough.
      only thing i could figure is the UC dust must have got in the wax on hood.
