  • Which towel? Which pads? Help

Hello friends. On Monday i get my first black car ... so im looking for the best meguiars products available to take real good care since the beginning but i dont know which towels or pads are the best, or the newest, for black cars. So please, help me to pick the right ones.

    Towels:
    - Supreme Shine Microfiber
    - Ultimate Wipe
    - Water Magnet
    - Soft Buff Terry Towel

I want one towel to dry the car, then another one to apply UQD and, in the future, ultimate polish cause ultimate wax comes with a towel

Then the pads for ultimate polish. Which one will give me less swirls marks
    - Even coat microfiber pad
    - Foam pad

And last, but not least, any very very very good pad to wash the vehicle? Im using Gold Class shampoo.

    Thanks in advance!

    I use the following:

    MF wash mitt to wash
Supreme Shine MF towel to dry
Even coat MF pad to apply wax
Small MF towels to remove wax (current patch is from Costco, nice and thick)

      Wash: MF Wash Mitt
      Dry: Water Magnet - I'd get a 3-pack...
      Apply Products: Foam Applicators
Remove Products: Supreme Shine Towels - have many of course.

Apply Spray Wax/Detailer: Supreme Shine Towels

For Interior: Target small MF Vroom brand towels

Dirty areas, like under hood: Terry Cloth

Correction. I use the Water Magnet to dry the car. I mixed up the name because they looked the same in the Meguiars.com.

Here in Toronto, the local stores do not carry too many Meguiars products. Many of my Meguiars products were bought from my friend in US.
For the smaller MF towels, I just buy whenever they are on sales regardless of brand. I like the thicker one; more absorbent, more bite and last longer.

Water Magnets work killer. If you use them only most average sized cars can be done with 2, 3-4 are preferable as they dry time is cut down.

Just make sure to wash them first and let dry out as they tend to work better and you do not need to pre-wet them to start.

I use pretty much what everyone here has already mentioned.

              Wash - MF Wash Mitt
Dry - Water Magnet - I primarily use a leaf blower to dry the car, so I can get away with just one of these
UQD/Wax Removal - Supreme Shine - You'll want to have several of these
Polish - I use a DA for polishing, correcting, and applying wax. In the past I've used the Even Coat applicators for waxing, but haven't tried polishing with them.

I also have a bunch of generic MF towels from Target, Wal-Mart, etc. for use on wheels, interior cleaning, door jambs...

Speaking of towels, what are you guys using for glass? The cheap towels that I've been using tend to shed a fair amount of lint. Haven't tried the Supreme Shines yet, as those are dedicated to paint use only.

The paint and glass will pretty much have the same type of dust/dirt on them, so no reason to avoid it. Wheels/underbody/jambs are the bad spots.

I use the Vroom towels when doing a good cleaning/removing RainX , and I get lint once in a while, nothing consistent.

I will use a Supreme Shine or Ult. Wipe for UQD/UQW over everything, glass included.

Good point. I didn't think about it like that. I did a bit of searching through old threads, and it seems that the glass-specific MFs sold by ADS are pretty popular. Might give those a try.
