Do you have any products on hand at the moment?

I would want to give it a good wash, and then just do a small test spot with a mild paint cleaner, like SwirlX or Ult. Polish, and see where it goes.

        Re: Guys help!!

Did you buy the clay bar kit that has the Cleaner/Wax sample?

Its hard to say for sure what you might need, which is why I was wondering if you had anything mild on hand. I think the Black Box has a cleaner in it.. havent used it, but probably mild.

            Re: Guys help!!

The Cleaner/Wax is about as mild as it gets... but you can wash and do a little test spot with the Cleaner/Wax, even the TW cleaner as well, and see what happens.

Normally you would let the Cleaner/Wax dry like a wax, but if just checking the cleaning ability, you could apply and remove right way.

You'll probably still want a proper cleaning product, but if the Cleaner/Wax deals with it, at least you'll know you just need a mild product. Otherwise will have to try something stronger and see.

              Re: Guys help!!

That appears to be nothing worse than a poorly applied wax job. From the looks of things it was probably applied thicker than it should have been, wasn't allowed to dry long enough, and maybe worked a bit more aggressively against the paint than it needed to be. Basically it looks like it was just slopped on and wiped off. There's a reason this whole process is called "detailing".

A simple light but thorough application of the Cleaner Wax that came in your Smooth Surface Clay Kit should be all it takes to correct this. That little bottle of Cleaner Wax really should be more than enough to wax a car twice, so you get an idea as to how thin a wax really needs to be applied. So apply it thin, but uniformly and thoroughly, to all the painted surfaces of the car (wash and dry the car first, of course!) and then let it dry for 10 to 15 minutes and then wipe off the residue.

Your "friend" is a moron! Kill him immediately so he can't detail again.

Ask your friend what wax did he use.

I would just buy a paint cleaner to remove the wax, like Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner.

                          Re: Guys help!!

I think if the Cleaner/Wax did nothing, its going to need more than DC Cleaner.

Might be a good idea to give a good wash with Dawn, and then look into trying Ult. Compound....

Although since I am surprised the Cleaner/Wax did nothing at all, hopefully going stronger with the above will help. Asking the friend for some info may help also.

                            This is a good idea.
The dish washing liquid will remove the wax and you will see if this resolves the issue.
If no, you will have to go with something stronger, like Ultimate Compound.

So should the Cleaner/Wax... which makes this more odd... But, have to try simple things at first.
