  • MicroFiber Sytem Question 5.5" or 6.25"

What size are you guys using? 5.5" or the 6.25"? Do you find one of the 2 sizes works a bit better? Preference? I'm trying to debate on which one to get. And want to hear some feed back on the sizes, and why people got one over the other? Just putting my feelers out there before I place my order.

    Thanks Guys

Are you using the g110v2? If so, I think the diameter designed for this tool is the 5" discs. This is what I ordered for my D/A.

Well i dont have the tool yet either. But i had in mind of the GG 6" just because they are local for me, so if i were to have any problems they are no more then 30 minutes away. But its not set in stone either .

Even with the GG6, I'd still get the 5" MF system kit. It has the W67DA BP included in that kit.

When working with a standard DA tool (Meguiar's G100/G110/G110v2, Porter Cable 7336, 7424, 7424XP, Griot's, etc) you want to stick with the 5" discs and our W67DA backing plate. That size disc was specifically developed for use with a DA tool, the 6" option is for larger format tools like the Flex, Festool, etc. The W67DA is all but mandatory, too, as many other backing plates have long fingered hook & loop material that don't play nice with the backing on the microfiber discs; you will generate a ton of heat with the wrong backing plate, and that can and will lead to premature failure of the microfiber disc.

If you're getting a GG6" tool then either get our 5" Starter Kit (it comes with the backing W67DA backing plate) or buy the parts separately, but don't skip that W67DA!
