  • Applying UW

Does any one have any tricks to applying Ultimate Wax on a white car. I can see it go on my black vehicle but on the white I really have a hard time telling where I have been. The light has to be just right. I use a very detailed slow process to make sure I cover every area panel by panel. I don't want to put it on real thick so I can see it better.

Assuming you don't miss any spots is it possible to apply this wax to thin. I know you want a nice even thin coat but can you go to far. I don't think I have a problem with this as it seems like I use a lot of wax but it is an interesting question.

When taking off the UW on the black I can see it leaves a little oily residue in some areas. To get rid of it I just leave it a couple of minutes and then go over that area again. Works fine but takes a bit more time. If you leave it will it go away? I can't see it on the White but I give it a double wipe down to finish it off.

    Thanks,

I actually just did a white car today with UW. Just apply it thin and use a steady, consistent pattern to ensure you are covering the entire surface. You can also run your finger along the surface to feel where the wax was applied and where it wasn't. I was able to do a nice thin coat as always.

UW can smear a little. I have found that if left alone, the polymers will self level within 24 hours most of the time. This is assuming you did not apply a very thick coat and just a very thin, proper coat.

Thanks Shawn. I'm sure I am getting a nice thin coat on. I am putting it on with the DA and black pad and it goes on nice and smooth. I know I'm getting good coverage now. I did my black Expedition and the white Fusion both this weekend. Today coming home we both got caught in a hard rain. Water beaded up real pretty, pulled into the garage and the cars look clean.
