  • Clay, # 9, and NXT 2.0

I am about to detail my truck. I was wondering if the clay step is necessary. The paint is not in bad shape, with that said it is a 2006 and I am sure has never been done clayed before.

If I clay is recommended, how much time are you supposed to spend in one spot? Also, the #9 gets put on lightly, but should not be allowed to dry correct?

I will be using a meg DA buffer for all my detailing work with the finishing pads.

    Does this all sound ok?

Nothing mandatory, but if it hasnt been clayed before and you want to do your best, then yeah, clay it.

Its a little hard to explain if you have not clayed before, but all you have to do is spray some QD on the clay, some on the panel, and glide it across the surface. In most cases, bonded on stuff should come off pretty easy, no need to spend too much time at all.

Not sure what you mean by lightly, but #9 shoudlnt dry.
