Re: How to use 105 ?
M205 is a dream to work with ! M105 works great for corrections ,but dries too quick ! 2 passes then drying up. What are you guys doing to give it more working time? Spritz with water? Adding small amount of mineral oil? Priming pad then using a few drops of M105 I am using a sample bottle. Could this make a difference?
The list above is only a starting point. Ultimately which products you choose will be determined by your skill, the condition of the paint, how hard or "polishable" the paint is, and your personal preferences - especially with regard to your final wax selection. Some other things to keep in mind when working with the
i used m105 for the first time with my g110v2 with a new SOFT BUFF 2.0 polishing pad, and it seemed like it got really dry real quick? am i doing something wrong? anyone else get this, its like after 2 passes it just seems it was drying real fast. let me know what you guys think thanks
I tried out my Griot's DA on a friends black 2500 this weekend. Im very new to machine polishing and this was my first attempt with black. I was happy with the results, but couldnt correct all the paint swirls. I used an orange LC 6.5 smart pad with M105 followed by a white pad and M205. I finished M26 with a grey pad. I worked

Guys I need some tips on how to get out the swirls on my 08 bmw x3. I have been told its got a soft clear. But I have tried and tried other products and cant get them all out. I just purchased a new bottle of the 105 and 205. I have 2 white, and a orange LC 6" pad. I also have a white and yellow 4: spot buff pad. I am
I just bought some #205 and am now wondering if it is agressive enough to remove swirls and car wash scratches. By the same token I don't want to be more agressive on the paint then necessary. Is there a general rule of thumb on when to use #105 and when to use #205?? I am using a DA Merguiar's Buffer and will put down some #7
Man I gotta tell you sometimes I frustrate myself. I am still having a bit of a problem using UC/105, it wont wipe off! I put an X across my LC orange pad, speed setting of about 4, and start polishing. The residue wont wipe off though?? I had to use 50/50 glass cleaner to get the residue off. I follow my test spot with m205
Take some tape and mark out a 2 foot by 2 foot square box. Work only within that test spot until you achieve the results you desire.
Put a Meguiar's yellow pad on your DA. (Black if you want to "practice" technique first before really going at it.)
Prime the pad. Search for "Kevin Brown method", if you don't know how.
Set your buffer on 3, spread some M105 around your test spot. Now set your buffer on 5. Start making 50% overlapping passes. Right to left, left to right from top to bottom. Now go top to bottom from the right to the left.
Keep repeating until the M105 starts to dry. Now wipe off the spent M105 with a high quality microfiber.
Check your test spot with a bright light or move the car out into the sun. In the test spot, is it perfect? If not repeat the process. (Don't forget, move out of the sun.)
Remember, SLOW arm speed (so slow you almost dont move, but never fully stop) and plenty of pressure (stop rotation, then ease up a bit)
Clean your pad often (search for "pad cleaning on the fly").
Keep your work area clean, there may be dusting, perhaps even a lot.
Inspect, buff, inspect, buff.
Remember, you maybe creating marring or micro marring. Don't overwork the area and create additional work. Also do not work dry product, better to wipe off a little early to avoid excessive dust, possible marring and bogging down the buffer.
Read the above reference discussions regarding M105 drying out too soon. Take corrective actions as needed.
Do not leave the test spot until it is exactly the way you want it. Take your M205 and now buff out the micro marring.
Do not leave the test spot until it is exactly the way you want it.
Do not leave the test spot until it is exactly the way you want it.
Do not leave the test spot until it is exactly the way you want it.
Realize if the test spot takes an hour, the whole car may take.....days! Especially cleaning up the dust and removing micro marring.
Oh as a favor to us, please find the period key and stop with the endless run on sentences. Thanks for that courtesy.

Re: How to use 105 ?
Things to consider:
M105 is Meguiar's most aggressive compound,
M105 will create noticeable amount of dust so masking tape/ towels will be needed to cover sensitive areas,
UC is much more user friendly and offers longer buffing cycle,
While working with D/A polishers I found UC just slightly below M105's cut ability (all other aspects being equal),
M105 may require intense clean-up after,
M205 is a perfect follow up to M105, just like Ultimate Polish to UC,
M105 will be much too aggressive on paints being on delicate side.
If you want to increase cut of your D/A polisher without dust and be able to effectively remove moderate paint defects look no further but into D/A Microfiber Correction System. It works absolutely great.
