  • ONR question

Some touchless car washes spray on a few chemicals, such as "clear coat protectant" or whatever it maybe.

After using a touchless car wash, would a wash with ONR remove those chemicals?

I'm not sure when circumstances like this would pop up, but what if?

    Re: ONR question

    Dave,

I would imagine so if the ONR wash was done soon after.

I run the work truck through the touchless every now and then and there is still a film of grime on it after so I dont trust them to begin with.

      Re: ONR question

I would just hit it with ONR and not even bother with the touchless wash.

But, I would imagine ONR would do what you wanted.

        Re: ONR question

I'm thinking about times I'm desperate and run through a car wash and I'm not wearing the right shoes/clothes to hand wash and I could ONR without getting to wet. I agree about the film.

          Re: ONR question

Shawn, I've used ONR once. Went over car twice and it was not clean. Perhaps it was too dirty for ONR. Or perhaps I didn't know what I was doing!!!

            Re: ONR question

            How dirty was the car?

I hate ONR washing but I have to do it about once a month on a certain job and it works and seems fairly safe when used correctly but its not something you can use to prep a work truck or even a real filthy car with extreme brake dust and even light clumps of dirt in the wheel wells.

Anyways, my maintenence wash service takes anywhere from 1-4 hrs to complete so usually my clients come to me when they are ready and not so much in a rush. I dont like doing last minute washes but I will since thats the way it is.

              Re: ONR question

I almost always use ONR or QEW (Quick Easy Wash) after a touchless or coin-op wash. I never use either on a car/truck that is really dirty. Both do a very good (and safe) job on vehicles that are only slightly dirty...too dirty for a quick detailer, but no caked on dirt.

                Re: ONR question

I use ONR to clean my car and my wife's car in this scenario: I only want to spend about 30 minutes per car and the cars are pretty clean already.
