  • Question about clear bra install: heat gun

Hi all. I got a new car last week and had a clear bra installed by a guy whose been doing it for 10+ years. He's a trainer for 3M, and did a great job.

Anyways, I've read that heat guns can damage clear coats, and I noticed he used a heat gun. I'm assuming he knows how to use one, and the couple minutes I did watch him he kept it moving the whole time. I've looked at the car under the light in every angle and can't see any mark anywhere. If there was any heat gun damage, it would be obvious now right? Not appear later?

    Ease my worries please!

You got nothing to worry about. I use a heat gun all the time on cars and trucks removing decals. You gotta pretty much hold it in one spot for a bit to hurt the clear coat. As long as he kept it moving and did'nt let the paint get to the boiling point your ok
