  • My setup...#7, GC, then?

Ok So here's what I did yesterday:

Wash, Clay, DC paint cleaner, Show Car Glaze, then Gold Class Liquid Wax.

I'm realizing I probably should have went with a pure wax since I believe the GC has cleaners in it, is that true? I feel as if the GC cleaned off the #7 polish. Should I add a pure wax on top of the gold class? Or what are your suggestions?

    THANKS!

No, Gold Class is a polish/wax. You're fine, although could add a second coat.

Thanks. I think I'll put that second coat on.

What about a coat of Hi Tech Yellow? Or should I stick with the GC?

NOthing wring with applying Hi tech yellow wax, but it may not be cost effective, or the improvement in look and protection. But (if you have gold class carnauba plus, not the old version) both waxes have carnaiba in it, so i'd just apply another coat of gold class.

After all of that, it's gonna be all about maintenance. Calif. Duster, Ultimate quik detailer on a regular basis, Car wash with a quality shampoo (maybe 1-2x a week or more if necessary), ultimate quik wax after every car wash (or once a week?).

Alternatively, i'd use ultimate wash and wax and ult. quik detailer in between washing and waxing. You'll be surprised on how long your shine will stay on your car

No cleaning step for the paint?

Clay, Scratch X or Swirl X?

Yeah, Gold Class Soap is great. If you want, you can use a spray wax after it to boost the life of the wax, and the looks.

I meant I have the old Gold Class Wax, not the new one with carnauba.

Old and new are carnauba... the new one is just better I guess.

Absolutely! 2 thin, even coats would be do nicely. Gold class Shampoo is a good car wash and should keep your car shiny. And as always, i recommend a quik detailer in between car washes and quik wax after every wash. I guess the only quirk about the old fold class is that even if the old formula still works beautifully, in one's mind its still the OLDER version of the carnauba plus gold class. If you still have a lot, i'd use it all up first before getting the newer one.

Seems like I read that the new one, "plus", is a carnauba / synthetic blend. I really enjoy the paste with hand application.
