  • How do i fix this

The car is really dirty yes I know. I've been neglecting it for awhile. I've been reading up on the site on how to deal with swirls and small scratches which I have both and I feel like I've learned on how to go about it. The thing is my roof has those 2 spots that are bad which I don't even know how to get started on fixing it. I've read about the polishing compound but I don't know if that alone will do it. Any help will be appreciated.

This looks more like the clear coat failing. If this is the case, I would say you would need to get a paint pro involved.

Severe oxidation........must likely clear coat failure....
Theres a chance to improve carefully wet sand with 2000 grit paper
and polish with Meguiar's Ultimate Compound or Meguiar's 105.
Attempt on a little area first and if possible share your results.....

If that process does anything, and it's highly doubtful it will, any improvements will be very short lived. Besides, unless you really know what you're doing when wet sanding it's too easy to make things worse rather than better. And without the proper tools to remove the sanding marks, you're just setting yourself up for failure.

The harsh reality here, however, is that you're looking at clear coat failure, without a doubt. The ONLY way to fix it is to repaint the panel.

Oh wow...i was on my way to the store to get the stuff since am off today but now with your comment and not sure. What would you think i'll be looking at to repaint the panel? By looking at it, the panel goes all the way around from the rear sides to the roof and along the front of the windshield. or can they just repaint the sections that are bad and even it out....jw...i might just get rid of the car depending on price

At the very least, they'd have to repaint the entire roof and maybe more, for blending purposes.

As for the cost... it is impossible to say at there are too many variables involved.
