Re: New car application
UQD wont have much protective ability.
If the surface was clean, like you had just washed, you could use something like Ult. Quick Wax, which would offer more protection.
The best thing would be to use a proper liquid/paste wax once in a while, with the UQW after washes in between.2017 Subaru WRX Premium - WR Blue

2nd... Looks nice. I always like to Wash, Clay, Cleaner/Wax, Wax a new car.
No need for anything professional, I am sure you have the right idea by now from being on here. You can do whichever steps you like yourself.

Re: New car application
Hi all,
about my new black car, regarding to kind guidance of Murr and other mates, i decide to follow such sequences all by hand:
wash > clay > ColorX > Ult. liquid Wax > Maintain.
but in this thread Michael and others are speaking about pure polishes like M26 yellow wax
For the best shiny result by hand, it's better to use Professional Mirror Glaze series or others like ColorX & Ult. liquid Wax?
Is there any possibility of damaging the color for amateurs by using the professional series?
TIA

Another thing you may find (hopefully not), is that it takes a good basic detail of the car like this, and then spending some time with it out in the sun, etc, to really see any paint defects you may want to work on in the future.

Re: New car application
Not sure what you mean by non-abrasive wax? The only waxes with abrasives would be the cleaner/wax products like ColorX, #66, D151, etc.
Are you able to get the Gold Class +? Might be fun to try.
Also, you might want to look into Ult. Quick Wax for after each wash, if it is available. Little more protection and durability there.2017 Subaru WRX Premium - WR Blue

Re: New car application
Yes, the Gold Class would be similar to the #26. You would apply a thin coat, let dry, then remove.
As for the UQW, I tend to go around my car twice when drying. First with one towel quickly to get most of the water. Then I will go around again with the UQW and a dry towel as a fine wipe. Just letting a light mist of the UQW fall over the panel, then wipe dry.2017 Subaru WRX Premium - WR Blue

Re: New car application
Not entirely sure what you mean.
When we say 'two coats of wax', we mean that you would apply a thin coat, let dry and remove. Then apply a second thin coat, let dry, and remove. If that is what you meant.2017 Subaru WRX Premium - WR Blue
