  • Drying with Supreme Shines

    Hi guys,

First time poster, but I have been lingering around these forums for ages now. Very informative .

I was just wondering if anyone else uses 2 or 3 supreme shines instead of a chamois/waffle weave etc to dry their cars? Im presuming its safe?? Here in Aus the only drying towels meguiars offer are the soft buff and supreme glide chamois which i do not like.

I have been using the supreme shines for a while now to dry and while they dont absorb as much and it takes a bit longer, they seem to glide over the paint alot easier intead of grabbing and the wax just seems to last a tad longer .

    Welcome to MOL!

Yes, the Supreme Shines are more than safe for drying after a wash, though as you've discovered they aren't the most effective tool for that job! If you're OK with the lack of water absorption (not really what they're designed for, obviously) and the extra time it takes to dry this way, then you're perfectly safe doing so.

Thanks Michael, i figured as much. As I NXT my car regularly and use UQW after every wash, and use a stream to rinse the car, most of the water just sheets off anyway, so the lack of water absorbtion is not so much of an issue .

Depends a lot on the size and shape of the car, i could do my car with just one one if i wanted to but being a larger station wagon, with a long flat roof and bonnet, its easier and more efficient to use 2.
