I just opened up my smooth surface clay kit and I'm surprised by how small the bars are compared to the clay brick they show on the pictrure on the back how Many times can you use 1 bar ?

If you picked up the latest version of the Smooth Surface Clay Kit the bars are 80 grams each (an upgrade over the previous 50 gram bars). One bar should be sufficient to clay a full sized car, unless the car is horribly contaminated. In many cases you can clay several cars with a single bar - again, it all depends on the amount of contamination.

Depends on the car.

If your car started in good shape, and stays that way, one set of bars could last through 4, 5, 6 clayings, maybe more. You would need more QD of course.

If you have a lot of gunk to remove, drop them on the ground, use them for wheels, then you wont be able to use them as much / as long.

i dont think its 80 gram the bars look like the small soap bars you get at a hotel it might be the 50 gram but all im saying is the bars arent that big

With you being in Canada you probably have the 50 gram bars - the 80 gram bars are in the new kit we just introduced this year. But the 50 gram bars have been working great for hundreds of thousands of people over the years, so we're confident they'll do the same for you.

ok thanks also michael since your a admin why is it that you dont sell all the megs products in canada im looking for the buffer and cant find it anywhere also need more supreme shine microfibers but they only come with the clay kit and ultimate liqued wax here and same with the foam applictors witch ive got 2 of from a booth at a car show but they dont sell them here retail why is this ?

Ah yes, the age old question of why we don't sell everything everywhere.


The simple answer is, we don't, and can't, control that. If a retailer feels that they only need to carry one leather cleaner, for example, they'll pick the one that sells best in their area. Or if their customers won't pay more than a couple of bucks for a glass cleaner, they won't carry one that costs twice that. Retailers have limited shelf space and have to pick and choose what they carry based on all sorts of different parameters - and those will vary from retailer to retailer, whether in Canada, the US, or elsewhere.

Obviously it were totally up to us, you'd be able to go into Canadian Tire, Pep Boys, Advance Auto, etc and find every single Meguiar's product on the shelves, in quantity. But it's not totally up to us, although we do often work with retailers in developing products that they feel can fill a void or that their customers are asking for in large enough numbers. It's a surprisingly complex process, made all the more so when you consider that Meguiar's isn't the only company hoping to fill those store shelves.

That said, we've recently made some big changes with our Canadian distribution so you'll be seeing more and more of our products north of the border. Canadian Tire is carrying more of our products than ever before, and it looks like that expansion will continue. We couldn't be happier, certainly, and we hope it makes our Canadian customers and fans happier too.
