  • Newbie With A Question!

Okay, so I'm a newbie here but not a newbie to Meguiar's!!! So onto the question. I have always covered up the electrical components before I cleaned my engine compartment. Well I was talking to a buddy of mine the other day and we got talking about auto detail and I told him what I did and he thought I was nuts. . . . so, am I nuts for covering up the electrical components in the engine compartment before I pressure wash? Also has anyone tried the new Meguiar's Engine Cleaner and Dressing and if so, how well does it work? No one around me sells it yet, so I would have to order it direct from Meguiar's.

(i own a 2006 dodge magnum and a 2003 dodge ram 1500. . .not sure if that makes any difference for electrical "things" being properly sealed from water)

Covering things like the alternator to minimize the amount of water getting in is a very good thing to do. Also be careful of where you are spraying the water.

I have no experience with the cleaners our dressings.

While the electrical components under the hood *should* be water tight, it won't hurt to cover some of the more exposed components/connectors.
