I have a disagreeable smell in the back of my VW Jetta wagon. Any suggestions on what has worked for any readers to get rid of smells? I have vacuumed the interior, shampooed the carpets and cleaned but the smell still lingers. It smells biological.

Re: Odors
As Mark has suggested you must first identify its source
Most odours are caused by bacteria and unless you are able to neutralise the bacteria that is causing the odour it will continue to smell.
Without identifying and eliminating the source of the odour / mould you can't get rid of it, there are many products that mask odours; what you need to do is remove and clean and thoroughly dry the whole area; carpets (inc rubber backing), upholstery (inc foam and etc) that is affected, including the headliner and metal floor pan (don’t forget to clean/replace the cabin air filter).~ Providing unbiased advice that Professional and Enthusiast Detailer’s Trust ~ Blog – http://togwt1980.blogspot.com

Re: Odors
Nothing beats a Dakota Oder Bomb.
I cleaned out a Chevy Colorado that a guy used for work and he had 2 big dogs that would track in grease/mud and stench into the cab (yuck) . I guess his daughter sprayed perfume on the seats to try and hide the dog smell but it made things worse.
After a 2 hours of vacuuming and a shampoo with the DA I set off half of a Dakota Oder Bomb, misting the cloth seats and carpet floors. The oder was gone. Ever since then I have used the Dakota Brand Bombs. One small can covers 6000 Cubic feet and it cost under 5 bucks through ADS. The best part of the bomb is the sent wont linger around.
