Gold Class Wash and Grit Guard

I just got the meguiars grit guard and used it for the first time. I love the concept but, has anyone trimmed down the "legs" so it is not so tall? If it were shorter, I would not have to use as much water and car wash soap, making the bottle last longer.

Also, tried drying with a yard blower for the first time. This will become part of my washing routing everytime, makes towel drying go by very quickly.

Well, you want to have some distance to keep the grit at the bottom separated.

However, if you only have one, you would want it in your rinse water bucket. So can use a 5-gallon bucket for the rinse water, and whatever size you like for the soapy water.

If you're going to trim down the legs of the grit guard, then you're making it less effective. The height is there to isolate the dirt from your wash solution and to minimize it from swirling around the bucket. If you're concerned about using too much water or solution then might as well not use a grit guard.
