Re: I Need Help Guys for this spot on my trunk

I just got the exact same type of defect out of my Mercedes with UC and a GG 6 Random Orbit Polisher, which broke, but more on that in another post. Anyway, it worked out really nicely and i had it on speed 5 and it took it right out within the first few passes. Some guys on this board thought it was CC failure as well, but obviously it wasn't, good luck.

I would guess other waxes have some, but not considered enough to be a polish. ( at least Mrguiars products)

As far as a working by hand, something like the Deep Crystal Polush, with is a pure polish (oils only), or the Ult. Polish ( a mild cleaner and polishing oils) are certainly fine by hand.

My co worker told me yesterday that I should not polish nor wax my car until 4 months. It this true? And also he advised me not to use it yet on long trip. I have scheduled long trip from Sacramento to Phoenix this month and stay there for two months. And the Camry will be exposed under the sun whole day for two months. My friend told me it will not be good for my new paint. I'm planning to use my Camry since it has alot of miles on it and it is an old car and gas saver at the same time. I'm confuse now what to do.

I actually thought of that too because the surface was still shiny. But if you will look from the top, you will see the spot, even at the roof. And I thought it was a clear coat failure because this Cashmere Beige metallic (Gold) 1997 to 2001 Camry is notorious for fading paint. You will see a lot of Camry's this model has different color bumpers. My bumpers turned to slightly grayish gold metalic bumper and people thought my car has been to accident and painted a wrong color. I've seen some Camrys too with faded but not peeling paint on their hood. So I thought it was CC failure so I have the whole car repainted.

Yeah, we kind of jumped over that... new paint needs to wait before waxing.

          Generally 60-90 days.

The sun wont be good if it is sitting still or moving.

Thanks for giving me peace of mind. I will wait then after 90 days I can polish and wax it. But on my other cars, I will follow your advise. Thanks for sharing your expertise.
