  • Difference between D300 and Ultimate Compound?

Are they the same? If not, what are the differences?

Looks like I found my answer. Ultimate Compound is less aggressive than D300.

Well, got a bit more that that going on...

D300 is meant for use with the MF system. The MF pads also change the agressiveness level.

UC is a bit more for hand use, is not a rotary product.

Aggressiveness alone is only ever part of the story when comparing two different products designed for similar tasks.

Ultimate Compound is a direct descendant of M105 Ultra Cut Compound in the Mirror Glaze line, but tweaked to give it less cut and a better user experience on a DA buffer.

D300 DA Microfiber Compound is our first purpose built DA compound and it was engineered to work in concert with the DA Microfiber Cutting Disc. The time and energy put into matching these two components would shock you as we would have to alter one of them in response to a small tweak on the other. While it still utilizes SMAT abrasives (as does M105 and UC) it is a completely different product.
