Sorry. Car is brand new but probably sitting on the lot for a couple of months. I don't think the surface feels really clean. I do the work by hand as I don't trust myself with a machine. I want the brightest, deepest appearance that is reasonable..
Thanks

Re: Best for Black?
In one step you could use M20 Polymer Sealant after claying.
If willing to do two steps and going for maximum gloss Ultimate Polish with one of three: Ultimate Wax, Gold Class Carnauba Plus or Next Tech Wax 2.0 should deliver.
Just my recommendations.

The two steps noted above would be after the clay bar or in lieu of?

Re: Best for Black?
you could also go with M80 speed glaze. It works great by hand and you could top it with the M26 Hi tech yellow wax(liquid or paste). Check out my link below. I washed and clayed and just put 2 coats of 26 on my wifes new santa fe.(black)

Re: Best for Black?
If this is brand new I woldn't go with the Ultimate Polish, but instead go to a pure polish such as the Deep Crystal Polish. If you have swirls use Ultimate Compound first, then go to a pure polish followed by any wax (TW2.0 or Ultimate wax).
This is what the Meguiars guys told me to do on my 2008 GMC Acadia . . . shame I didn't have a dual action polisher....Seeing their heads turn as you drive by is payment enough.

Re: Best for Black?
Wash with the two bucket method to make sure you are not adding scratches & swirls.
Do the "baggie" test. Put you hand in a "baggie". Can you feel grit on the paint?
If you do, then you need to clay the paint. After clay, wash again to remove residue.
If you have swirls or fine scratches then you need to polish the paint to remove them.
Even new cars can have swirls. We call them "DIS" = Dealer Installed Swirls.
When the paint is ready to be sealed I might suggest Megs #7 and then finish with Ultimate wax.
