I have a painted on pin stripe. After various methods,(easy off didn't work, acetone took too long) I found that meguiars #2 fine cut polish takes it off with a felt wheel from my dremel. But, my dremel is one speed only (35k PM's) and won't keep the polish on. I can use the felt pad by hand and it works, albeit very slowly. I have a porter cable random orbital (2500-6500 rpms) and I think that should do the trick because a guy on youtube used his dremel at 5k rpms and it worked quire well. My question is what color of pad should I use for the PC that will work like the felt pad? Thank you for any help you can give!

Re: Removing a painted on pin stripe
The only reason I know this is because I actually did it by accident...I was told the pinstriping on a car I was detailing was tape...in fact, it wasn't, and I never checkedLesson learned, look closely...
I used #80 and a 8207 polishing pad on speed 5 with the G100...about 2 minutes into it, I realized the "tape" was disapperaing...so, for me, that process worked !

Re: Removing a painted on pin stripe
^Thanks for the info. I talked with a pro detailer and he said to use a purple wool (hybrid) pad with the #2 fine cut cleaner I have. I wonder if this will be too aggressive? I would rather start easy and work my way to aggressive.
