  • First Full Project Result.. Check it out guys!!!

    Hi guys,

Like I said before I want to show you Collinite 845 result but this time I will share the result of my first full detailing project. Actually I have done this polishing thing last month but not the entire car, so I call this project as my first full detailing project since I really do it for the entire car.
It took 2 days to finish it from the washing, cleaning interior plus exterior, polishing and waxing.
    My ammo:
    1. Washing (Megs Soft wash gel, MF Towel, Water Magnet)
    2. Prep (Clay kit)
    3. Polishing (PC 7424XP, M80, CCS 5.5" orange pad, Flat pad 4" orange pad, BP 3" and 5")
    4. Waxing (Collinite 845, CCS 5.5" black pad, Flat pad 4" black pad)
    5. Interior (Waxco leather shampoo)
    6. Engine (Super degreaser)

    And now the PICTURES !!!!

This picture taken before I did my detailing project, there were some light swirls on entire body.

    Polishing Time

This picture taken after I polished the entire car using M80 and off course PC7424XP, the swirls has gone

For the others who doubt the PC7424XP performance, please look at this picture. The result is not bad huh???

Once again this car has not been waxed!!!
Check out the full shot after polishing.

This picture taken when I waxed the entire car

After waxing I took a picture of the car but it was not too clear because it was cloudy when I took the picture.. So the reflection was a little bit dark

This is the picture of full car, this time the sun came out

Yesterday was a very tiring day but I am satisfied enough with the result

The only section I don't satisfied is the engine section because it's too hard to clean it maybe because I don't have the right product and some has been rusty

So what do you think guys about my first full detailing project?

Collinite 845 is not bad at all, it comes at a great price, about the durability I haven't tested it yet... you know I just applied it today

And finally I want to thank you the people here on MOL for sharing your experience.
I guess without you guys, the result would not be this satisfying
    Great people here on MOL

It came out very nice, Jefri.

I'm really glad you had a nice experience and liked machine polishing. M80 left your surface pretty glossy and removed all swirls.

        Way to go !

Good job, and the great thing is that you got no smears/streaking. The 845 can be tricky at times, sometimes i think its worth the shine/durability, sometimes it gets annoying and use NXT 2.0 instead. NXT is a lot more straightforward to use.

I don't know if others will agree, but in my eyes the 845 is a "bright" wax, unlike the NXT 2.0, thats why i 845 on my silver car, since it adds depth while adding this "bright" look to the paint. There are some things i like about 845, and you just gotta love the durability, however, as i mentioned before, NXT is no slouch in terms of shine (i actually like the NXT better) and durability.

For your tire dressing, I recommend the grape flavored meguiars dressing (gold class endurance). I prefer the spray dressings, i actually use reflections tire care. Its a satin look type of dressing.

                  Great Job!

Yeahh but NXT is far more expensive than 845... for now I want to test the durability first. Overall, I like the shine after waxing.

The tire - I forgot to apply tire cleaners on them (BTW you look the picture closely, until you find the tire is not dressed properly)

                        Thanks for the opinion ffboy

Sure! The strange thing is that sealants should be brighter looking than carnauba or carnauba blended waxes. The NXT2.0 gives nice depth, 845 gives a bright look! 845 has this bright, almost sealant look without the laminated look. What will appeal to you with NXT is the ease of use and depth. I like the nxt's shine, but thats just me.. hehe..

If you get around to trying NXT 2.0, go the liquid version. The paste is more difficult to use, you have to work it more methodically than the liquid, but because of that issue i had no issues with it smearing. You'll love the NXT just as much as the collinite 845 but for entirely different reasons.

I'll try to look for nxt 2.0, still it's hard to find in Indonesia
Why is it so hard to find the high quality detailing product in Indonesia?
When it is available, why it always come in high price?
