I believe the best choice is to use a soft foam yellow pad for polishing and a different one for waxing. Meguiar's always adds one to every can or bottle of wax of them so you just have to buy one more.

Got it done, clayed, polished, and waxed! Looks incredible! I did have some trouble with the Ultimate Wax, I applied it very thin like on the video but it never would dry completely, always smearing when I tried the swipe test. Finally I just removed it with a MF, took alot of elbow grease but it turned out really well. Thanks for all the help and advice over the last few days.

After reading all the info on this site I am tempted to pull the trigger on a DA polisher, is it worth the investment just for doing personal cars?

The Ultimate Wax seems to apply a bit differently than other waxes... havent gotten to use it yet myself.

As far as the machine... I have one, and do some details quickly by hand, others by machine for a deeper cleaning.

A DA is definitely worth the investment. It will make your work so much easier.

I always clay before waxing on cars I don't personally maintain. For example, my neighbor wanted his car done and he wanted one of my packages that included a claying. The car was in pretty good shape and the paint was pretty smooth but I figured to go ahead and clay it anyway. The finish felt even smoother after; like true glass. This made waxing with Ultimate Wax a breeze! Definitely clay.
