O/T Liquid Clay

My local Walmart is dumping their last boxes of Turtle Wax Clay System, consisting of a bottle of Liquid Clay, a clay bar & bottle of lube for 50% off at $9. Looking at the TW video, the car is washed first then liquid clay applied on the wet paint, rinsed then dried. Finally the surface is lubed & the clay bar used.

Has anyone used these liquid clay products or the TW clay bar? Your impressions? Wondering if I should give them a try for 9 bucks or just stick with the more expensive tried & true I've been using - just the clay, no liquid clay & not Turtle Wax. Thanks.

The Liquid Clay basically functions like a light paint cleaner. My recollection is that it did a pretty good job.

got couple of them at walmart at $10 also. Just like Akimel said, the liquid clay is pretty much the paint cleaner with cleaning agent, and that is what I use them for. If I remember right, the box also mentioned that liquid clay help treating swirls, which I really doubt it.

For $9, I think it is not too bad of deal to try out. Even without the liquid clay, the kit still worth for that price.

Advance discontinued it as a product and I picked up one for $1.95 a couple of months ago.

hmmmm...quick update: after reading the reviews as Muir suggested (which I forgot to do before writing this thread) I've decided it may not be worth the possible problems. While there were some positive outcomes for a few folks, there were others who found the clay system created new issues & didn't solve the original ones. So I think I'll pass on this bargain product. As someone said, "there's a reason this clay kit didn't sell & was put on the discount rack".

problem? really? I have tried the liquid clay as cleaner, and it works alright. Haven't tried the clay bar yet thought. I am wondering why everyone is dumping this product

I think it is more that at full price, if the liquid clay doesnt clay well, and is only a mild cleaner, not really worth it.

Havent seen the kit before... kind of admitting that the liquid clay doesnt clay. Interesting marketing scheme...

But on sale, maybe it is worth the price.

I bought the actual kit for $10 which includes clay bar, lubricant, and the liquid clay. If just the liquid clay, then forget it.

Just tried the actual clay bar included in the box, and it seems to work out fine. But, the liquid clay works just as cleaner as NuPolish ( I used it as quick mild cleaner ) ... or even cleaner wax without wax

I use the liquid clay at work to clean printer cartridge drum, which I normally use NuPolish that cost $7. In that way, the actual clay bar & lubricant kit only cost me $3 ......... ha, that's a deal to me
