  • First Full Detail!!!Check it Out!!

hi guyz..Finally done my first full detail today..takes me a weekend to finish it..after months of learning from the PROs here and asking a lot of question..finally it's finished..thx to ALL of u guyz..

    Method i use :
    -UW&W with lambswool washmitt
    -M105 with G110v2 and softbuff 2.0 yellow
    -DC polish
    -SuperDegreaser 2:1
    -HyperDressing 2:1
    -Hot Rims All Wheel Cleaner
    -Hot Rims Tire Gel
    -Natural Shine
    -2 coats of NXT 2.0
here's the original condition..after 2 weeks of neglect and using the wrong water to spray on it and leave it..TONS of water spot ETCHING..

and after washing..taping it off..still not did it really well..it was messy..

    and here is the headlight..
i gotta ask something..why does my headlight become blurry after washing??is it coz the water leaks into it..anyway, it's troublesome...and also, i've buff it with M105 but still no change..yellowy..should i sand it??

    the blurry headlight

    the 'normal' headlight

anyway..there's some white flecks on my finish..not sure what it was..i can take it off..but by scratching it or run DA on hard pressure on it..which was NOT cool.

    btw, here's the engine before

    here's the after..

    dramatically change, ain't it??

And here's the finished car..it's bright today..but kinda cloudy..just when you need the sun, it hides..*sigh*..so, the camera don't catch it's True Gloss..

as i said..it didn't get to full sun..

    lets compare, shall we..

    Before :

    and

    After:

            Looks very good!
Your headlight gets foggy like that when you wash, and I presume when it rains, because moisture is getting into the assembly somewhere; most likely it has a crack or a gap in the weatherstripping.

thx evryone.....takes me 2 weekend to finish it..

@tafner : the hardest part??i would say when buffing with M105...coz it dust so much and there's that damn white flecks too..really hard to remove..also, the first time i tried to use DA, i forgot to tape my trim and rubber thinggie near my door..so it leaves stain and become dull..

@CHzo6 : I thought so too..i'm gonna check it first thing tomorrow..

btw, i don't know if it's because of the cloudy weather, but i'm seeing some thin film on the hood of my car..it looks like the thing when you put oil into water..it has some thin film that has rainbow colour rite?? my car has it..i've tried to use UQD..but no luck..
is it just my feeling coz the sun is cloudy?? i'm gonna check it again today..hope i goes full sun..

              thx evryone..

You made your nice audi (and I love audis) look even more stunning.. My family owns a bmw e39, and i believe the a6 and the e39 are direct rivals, however, I have to say the audi wins the interior quality/craftsmanship easily. And the scary part with the audi is that their interiors are becoming even more fantastic with every new model..

@ffboy : yeah..i know....but mine is an older version..2001..i bought it used..you won't believe how much swirls and oxidation when i first saw it..hahaha...i don't really like my interior though..probably coz it's dark blue and what i want is black...hahahha...

anyway, what should i do with my Yellow headlight?should i just sand it and then use UC on it??

Great Results. Well done!!!!. You cant beat a shinny shinny black car . I guess you will be like me. Now you have it to such a great standard you will want to refine it further . I found on my black VW nxt 2.0 topped with Gold Class plus made the paint pop

Re: First Full Detail!!!Check it Out!!

Blue interioir? kinda unusual color.. something i can live with, i mean its an audi! whatever interior color, it has good craftmanship. But yes, black is better!! Honestly, i have no experience with headlight restoration.. If you sand it, make sure to use very fine grit (2000+grit?) and you may need a stronger compound to deal with the headlights and the sanding marks.

If you plan to try collinite, 845 and 476s is good. Collinite says 476s is their longest lasting wax, 845 is similar to 476s but doesn't last as long.. its easier to use though.. 915 has the highest carnauba content in the collinite arsenal. The 476 and 915 are paste waxes, and can be hell to remove of applied to thick or dried for too long on the finish. I've used 845 and 476, its good! waterr beading is really crazy, however the meguiars NXT 2.0 is a lot easier to use. The shine isn't far off the collinites.. Lets just say that when i compared both (on black paint), I was surprised with NXT 2.0! In my experince, in terms of shine the NXT 2.0 easily rub shoulders with the collinites in terms of shine.
