        Re: wax???

Meguiar's Ultimate Wax is the longest lasting one. You can choose either paste or liquid version. Paste version is easy to apply with a DA polisher and a 4" finishing pad which fits right into the wax jar.

I also have another synthetic wax Next Tech Wax 2.0 and natural (carnauba) Gold Class Carnauba Plus. Natural waxes finish really nicely on dark colored cars.

Cleaner waxes work really well on daily drivers or for a quick gloss restoration and some small paint problems. Ultimate Quik Wax is a great maintenance wax and gloss booster.

As far as what other detailers use, they could be doing anything. There isnt exactly a 'rule' they have to follow, so could be different from each one.

Butter wet wax Sure it only lasts 3 weeks, but it looks better than any wax i've used in a while.

According to some people in this forum, the longest lasting Meguiat's wax is #16, Professional Paste Wax.

Unfortunately this is a discontinued product but you can still buy it in eBay.

                    Re: wax???

Search for #16 in this forum. It was discontinued for some environmental reasons.

I think NXT V2 is now the longest lasting wax in Meguiars line.

I like to use either A12 Cleaner/Wax or Gold Class Carnauba Plus for my details that are just basic wash and waxes. Depends on color, age of vehicle and what the customer wants.

If I were a professional detailer seeking to offer a basic wash & wax package in a competitive market, I think I would seriously consider using M20 Polymer Sealant: it has modest cleaning action, is super-easy to apply and remove, apparently doesn't streak (at least I have never come across this complaint in any of the forums), looks good and is relatively durable.

It was. Ultimate Wax now exceeds it.

We know several local pro detailers who do exactly that, and for the very reasons you've stated.

I see that this Ultimate Wax is mentioned here from time to time.

I will try this wax as soon as I can get some. Again, my choices of Meguiars products are so limited in Canada.

So far I have been using NXT 2.0 and then topped with GCCP but the NXT will be replaced with the new UW.
