    +1

I'm pretty much the same way:

Pure Waxes: Meg's 16 is my favorite carnauba wax.

Washing and cleaning: CroftGateUSA is the favorite. Their Wash & Wax is king and does an excellent job. I suggest this to any mobile detailer.

Sealants: Wolfgang DGS 3.0 and CroftGateUSA Quick N' Slick are the tops. Durability and shine are unbeatable by any spray wax/sealant I have used compared to Quick N' Slick. Plus, it is a full on sealant that can be used as a base coat.

Cleaner/Wax: Meg's and some stuff I have which I am not allowed to name.

Polishes/Compounds: Meg's and 3M, you have the best in this category. M105 is an AMAZING product!

While we appreciate the kind words, we have had to take down a couple of posts that were overly negative towards one of our competitors. Our Forum Rules are very clear on this - specifically point #4; No bashing any company or their products. No bashing other people. If you can't say anything nice about someone, then don't say anything at all.

While we never have a problem with someone posting a negative review of any product, there is a right way and a wrong way to do this. For example:

Acceptable: I tried PRODUCT A and just didn't get the results I'm used to with my usual stuff and I found it more difficult to wipe off. I think I'll be sticking with my usual products and processes.

Unacceptable: I tried PRODUCT A and I have to say, this junk is the worst garbage I've ever seen - don't waste your money on this trash

I found it a bit strange that my Dodo Juice comments were singled out as I didn't think they were aggressive and cirtainly not 'bashing'. Out of the products they produce there just isn't one that I'd buy again, neither is there one I'd choose over a comparable Simonize/Turtle Wax product.

I see it as honesty, not bashing.

I been trying Meg's for a while now and they never seem to let me down. So I think I'm sticking with them. I have tried other name brand products, but they fail on what I'm looking for in a detailing product.

<---- Don't wanna speak about them, Don't wanna hear about them, And don't care to ever see them again...LOL

Well, we tried to keep this as a private issue with you, but since you've chosen to make it public, we just want to reiterate that your previous comments were borderline, not completely egregious. We didn't want that to lead to all out bashing on this thread (as a thread like this can be prone to). Your comments above are much more "gentle", for lack of a better term, and therefore totally acceptable.

Hey, we've had people say on this very forum that they prefer something else over Meguiar's - it's happened in this very thread - but there was nothing that could even be construed as bashing in them.

Yes, it can be a bit of a fine line, but we have to draw the line somewhere and then make the final call. We did, and hopefully that will end this particular discussion.

I didn't think it was an issue tbh. But having tried supernatural and Megs no16 side by side, No16 wins hands down in every area, looks/ease of use/lengevity.

In fact I was so impressed by such a cheap wax, it's on my list to buy.

Re: Your Favorite Car Care Brand?

Meguiars is part of my detailing arsenal, i have NXT 2.0,liquid, swirlx, ultimate compound, Ultiamte quik detailer and Ultimate quik wax. I'm not a hardcaore megs user though.

I also have mothers products :clay kit, still a good quantity of showtime, leather conditioner, leather cleaner. Now i just got reflections tire care and leather care, and the sealer and glaze. Reflections tire care gives a low gloss, but not the flat look. Its a nice look, almost "cool" to the eyes. The reflections leather care is a cleaner/conditioner in 1, and very pleasantly surprised with its cleaning ability, and doesn't have that dreaded oily look.

For waxes, i use collinite 845 and 1/3 can left of 476s in conjucnction with NXT 2.0. The 845 seems to go clearer and thinner than liquid NXT, that said, NXT 2.0 is easier to remove than both collinites. I used mothers waxes in the past, i will definitely use them again soon. FX synwax, rflections top coat and carnauba cleaner wax.

The NXT 2.0 itself has an appeal makes it a good buy.. Ease of use, good gloss and depth. In terms of durability, the collinites win vs. meguiars. However, meguiars is easier to find, just the same as mothers polishes/waxes. FOr this reason, Mothers and Meguiars are my prime detailing "weapons".

Re: Your Favorite Car Care Brand?

Honestly, I like Megs. Granted my experience with detailing, washing, waxing is minimal.

I believe I can find quality in all of their products, customer support as well as customer out-reach and their presence. Now, just to look at the last three means they have either:
A: Big "Wheels" and confidence about their products. They're not afraid to hear critism (Good and Bad)
B: They're more open and accessible to reach to than just
C: Meguiars present themselves more to me, a person that wants to blind people all day long with a luxious paint.
D: Megs has classes to teach students how to really detail their car, and care their car.

Now, what real hard-science I have to prove any of this?
Another Shelf-favorite has no forum, and the other shelf-favorite has a meger forum - with no real sense of "out reach"

...Having quality products helps too But it's hard enough to know what's quality and what's a lottery in the sea of 40-feet long "car care". Let alone what I should be using for my car. Heck, the retail chains down here thought I was insane for picking up all that I did. Perhaps I am a little crazy for buying all the Megs products on the shelf ...

I have a few Meguairs products, but also own a lot of other brands that I obtained to achieve my desired results..
there's not one brand that will achieve your desired results.. you mix and match..

Re: Your Favorite Car Care Brand?

Mixing and matching brands can give equally good results as to using a single brand exclusively. Sometimes it is actually necessary, especially if you consider the color of your car. ON black, NXT 2.0 gives me a nice balance between depth and brightness (bling). On deep/dark reds (particularly on our car), i like NXT but i'd give the FX synwax the edge in reflectivity/glassy/brightness.. On silver, I love NXT 2.0+collinite 845/476s. NXT 2.0 brings out the silver (and a bit of depth), collinite brings out the depth, wet look, and crisp reflections.. Its a combo i'll continue to use for some time to come.

                          Current products: Meguiars

I voted other, though, because over the last 15 years AutoGlym has slightly edged out Meguiars on my top shelf.

                            Meguiars only for me.

I used to pick and choose different brands and things to try...just for the heck of it - but I realized I was just wasting my money, because I eventually always come back to Meguiars. Once you find the best, you might as well stop looking for better.

Blue Apollo, you are clearly happy (extremely happy) with meguiars! I also like the some of meguiar's competition and i should be honest, they are very good too which makes it tougher to decide! I perdonally find it really hard to stick to 1 particular manufacturer. it's becoming more like "i'm in the mood to use collinite this time..." not the "i'll use this over NXT2.0 because NXT2.0 is terrible".

I've also used Reflections Top Coat over NXT 2.0.. Very nice combination, based on my experience.

3M-Ive used them for years polishing new paint jobs at the body shops ,im just more comfortable with their Perfect-it system and always had great results.
Megs for sure for my other detailing needs.
                                Mothers also has great products.
By the way,I like cherry scented car wash and banana scented dressing.Just throwing that out there
