  • What is this?

Guys I bought this car polisher a couple of months back but still havn't used it as I dont know what it is and threads here make me feel it is dangerous. Can someone tell me please

1)If it is a DA or a rotary buffer or anything else?
2)It has no options for controlling speed. Is it safe to use on my car?
3)It has a soft wool/fur like material (as can be seen in the pics). Is this an ideal applicator?
4)How can I use this to wax my car?

I know lame questions but would appreciate all help I can get. Almost all polishers in the market are of the same type and I do not see other types as seen on MOL in my country

That is an orbital polisher. Not real good for removing defects as it will not have enough power to do so. But it will speed up the time it takes to spread wax.

Thanks! I am not that much interested in removing defects and they will come up no matter what considering the environment I am in. So is it safe to use this and its speed is safe enough for a newbie like me?

I got one for Christmas once. It was absolutely worthless IMO

Unfortunately nothing else is available in my country. I am a bit apprehensive about the speed which is 3000rpm

If it says 3000 rpm then it is a lie. That speed is only capable of rotary polishers. You do not have a rotary polisher. Go ahead and use that to spread wax.

Might I reccommend using a cleaner/wax topped with something. It will keep the paint clean and it will hide and remove light swirls and haze. Try and pick up some microfiber bonnets for your size orbital as they are a lot less likely to scratch your paint.

You can do a better job by hand IMO

Does it have the slip on terry cloth bonnets?

Yes it has a soft fur like slip on as can be seen in the pics. Uptill now my car has always been waxed by hand and process is repeated every 10 days but lately I have been feeling that working by hand is not giving the desired results or that machine could result in a better job.

I have a 10 inch orbital similar to that one and I love it. I have been using it for about 12 years now with no problems at all. It makes waxing so much faster and easier.

The one I had, I only tried to use once. The bonet kept flying off so I ended up donating the unit to the church drive

How do you keep the bonet in place
