  • First Problem....

OK last month I took a great interest in taking better care of my vehicles. Since then I have spend a lot of time on different forums to learn a thing or many. Well the weather has not been the best. So I have planned and watch the weather and today was going to be my first two bucket wash day. It has warmed to 45 and I have been stuck inside watching my little one all day. The wife was due home by noon still not home and the sun is starting to set. This time last year I could care less about the salt and other grime on my truck but today I want it OFF.. I think I have caught some type of bug from this forum. What you guys think?? Thanks to everyone for a lot of great info and also Tuck91 for helping out on a few PM's.. I hope to be out after freezing temps tomorrow and get the truck washed.

You could always pick up some Optimum No Rinse and wash in the garage if you have access to one. ADS has it and then you just wash out of a bucket one panel at a time then dry and continue to the next panel.

Two buckets (maybe at least one with grit guard), good quality wash mitt or sponge and good quality drying towel should keep you swirl and scratch free.

As mentioned above, Optimum No Rinse ONR (Rinseless Car Wash) is also helpful and time saving.

Car duster and quick detailers help as well when vehicle is not too dirty.

This truck has not been hand washed in over a year. I have plans to wash clay and wax soon..

Yeah probably a little extreme for ONR (optimum no rinse) if you just had some road salt I would say you were ok but I'd be worried about the mud especially if it's thick.
