    2. bout the masking tape..is it okay with ANY masking tape or i should use a specific brand??coz when i use the masking tape i pick from the supermarket near my home, when i remove it from my car, it leaves sticky residue and it can't get off when i rub it with water and towel..what shud i do??

Masking tape that is labeled for delicate surfaces.

If the lights have oxidation build up, you're going to need wet sand them down (progressively getting to finer and finer sand paper)

Once you see the oxidation is gone (sort of like spider webs, or crows feet..usually yellowish) and you've got an even surface. Then go with the swirlx.

It can be a little more work sometimes than it seems, it all depends on the condition of the lights to begin with.

This is my technique, and it works well for me. I wont say everyone does it this way.

Are you just using the PlastX by hand or do you have the Headlight Restoration Kit with the drill attachment?

By hand, spread some PlastX out on the headlight, and work it in for about a minute or so with some moderate pressure, and remove. In a sense you would use this like a paint cleaner, it is not a spread, haze, and wipe off application, it is working with you as you work the product in to remove the defects.

            Re: How to use PlastX??

If after a few applications with PlastX by hand do not acheive results, you would most likely want to use one of Meguiar's Headlight Restoration Kits, which come with a wool pad attachment for a drill.

Yes, you can try UC, but you may need the power of the drill attachment & PlastX. There is only so much you can achieve by hand.
