  • White specs on car

Hi everyone. I have a 2006 black Monte Carlo SS and unfortunatly the front end looks like it has been peppered with something. It looks like rock chips, but the paint is only a year old there, and when I rub my thumbnail over the surface, it is totally smooth so I don't think they are chips, but something on the paint. I tried using a clay bar with no luck, then tried some NXT polish and with a LOT of rubbing with my thumbnail on the pad, it seemed to help a little, still not perfect though.

Has anyone else had a problem like this? I really don't want to have the hood and bumper cover repainted, but the car is too new and nice to look this way. I would appreciate any help that can be provided!

Hard to diagnose without a picture. Maybe it is road tar? If that is the case, try some bug and tar remover. Just a guess without a pic.

Sounds like it was a bad paint job. It seems that these little specs may actually be little tiny cracks forming in the clear. Are they just dots or tiny short lines, almost like sprinkles on a cupcake?

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

      I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
      Remove swirls my friends.
