  • Avoiding water spots in winter?

After spending hours getting rid of the water spots on my car, I'm wanting to avoid getting them again. Living in Oregon, it's wet in the winter. Should I be drying my car off when I park it in the garage? It's a tight fit so I'm unable (and don't want to) to wash my car each night but don't want to grind the grime into my paint either by drying it off unwashed. If I don't dry off the rain, the beads of water are still greeting me in the morning.

Suggestions? If it's rain and there's no sun involved, will it matter?

I think quick detailers would be helpful in your case.

Instead of re-washing your vehicle every time it gets some light stuff on its surface I would just spray it with one of quick detailers: Quik Detailer, Ultimate Quik Detailer, M34 Final Inspection or D155 Last Touch Spray Detailer.

You may use a car duster first before quick detail to make sure that all loose contaminants are not pressed into paint causing swirls/ light scratches.

If your vehicle gets dirtier you could also use one of rinseless car washes instead of full wash. Optimum No Rinse (ONR) is the most popular one.

Water spots are mostly problem when it's hot. Water evaporates in contact with hot car surface, before you have a chance to dry it, leaving hard chemicals etching into paint.
I heard that Next Car Wash deals better with hard water than any other Meg's car washes.

Get you some AutoGlym HD or Collinite as well as some ONR ... That stuff is flippn durable and will keep beads up jn a garage over night! And will keep Ur paint nice and slick for ONR
