  • Substitute for Polishing Compound?

Unfortunately I just have the Rubbing Compound but not the Polishing compound as it is not available here(out of stock). What would be the best possible substitute for the Polishing Compound? Can DC Polish do the job? If not, then what do you guys suggest?

DC Polish has no abrasives so it will not remove any haze left by Rubbing Comopund. I would pick up some Swirlx in place of Polishing Compound.

That would be our recommendation as well.

Any other recommendation? Is SwirlX the best possible substitute?

Pretty much, sounds like you are worried about it for some reason?

As a follow up to a more aggressive product like our Clear Coat Safe Rubbing Compound, yes, this is our top recommendation. You could use M205, M80 or M82 but you'd be buying a much larger quantity of product for a lot more money, and you'd have to find a body shop supply store to buy it from. SwirlX can usually be found at your local auto parts store.

I was a bit confused and worried. Because, don't want to ruin the paint by messing around with products. But thank you Murr for the help. Don't know what would I do without you guys
Also, planning to use UP on the interiors tomorrow. Will keep you guys posted

Another Question. As you all know the soft foam app pads are out of stock in my area. They would be unavailable for a month at least. However, I found some soft sponge/foam in a local hardware store. The feel and softness is similar to that of yellow Foam Applicator pads. I was planning to get this in bulk and then cut it to the required applicator pad size so I can use this for detailing. Tell me what you guys think...
