  • UQD+UQW combo?

Just seeing if this is a good combo to use..in between waxing to keep the protection at its best between waxing..

so i did a good wash, 1 coat nxt, and 1 coat yellow tech to prepare for the winter season... i was wondering if this would be a suitable combination for the next couple months until i decide to rewax the car.

    1)wash
    2)Ultimate quick detailer
    3) ultimate quick wax

is there a point in layering the QW over the QD? i know the QD has hydrophobic properties, but I don;t think it gives as much protection as the QW?... or does the QW have agents in it that are already in the QD? What I am asking is, would using both be redundant?

You wouldn't need both. I would go:

    1) Wash
    2) UQW

Keep the UQD for removing light dust / bird droppings etc.

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

I would recommend using the UQD for light dust/dirt clean-up in between washing and use the UQW after washing, maybe as a drying aid; it will also help extend your protection.

UQD is not for claying either....

But still good for bird droppings, etc.

              QD/LT/FI yes, UQD no....

Besides price, you would be putting a super slick polymer coating over what you are trying to remove, so not as efective.

Stay away from uqd for claying.

I also don't see why you could not use the uqd/uqw combo. I have. iy works very well.

                  Re: UQD+UQW combo?

If you're going to use either UQD or UQW immediately after washing, go with the UQW. UQD is designed to remove light dust and fingerprints without scratching the paint, but immediately after washing you don't have dust and fingerprints. UQW will offer an extra level of protection that UQD just can't give.

Where UQD is great is for routine dust removal. Plenty of guys will wipe down their cars daily, or every other day, just to remove the fresh layer of dust that has accumulated. Check out How to maintain your car's finish in-between polishing sessions and you'll get an idea as to just how easy it is to use, and use safely, on a regular basis.

What I should have clarified was this:
On occasion I have used uqd to clean up the light dust and fingerprints. Then after completing this step, I go over the vehicle with the UQW. I did not mean to imply, I would wash, uqd, then uqw.

Hope this clears up any confusion on my previous post.

is UQD as good as or equal to Megs D155 Last touch?.....I was planning on simplifying my routine....and the price on a gallon of this D155 last touch is pretty nice at ADS.

Right now I presently have 7 bottles of UQD, 6 bottles of UQW, 6 bottles of Mother's Showtime detail spray, 2 bottles of Mothers FX quick wax.
Yea...there was a sale on these items & I went a bit crazy.....
I plan on buying by the gallon, the Syn Xpress wax & D155 last touch once all my inventory has been used up....the price on these by the gallon are great at ADS!!

                          Re: UQD+UQW combo?

While UQD and Last Touch would be used for the same purpose, they are not identical products. UQD contains the same sort of hydrophobic polymers found in NXT Tech Wax 2.0, UQW and the new Synthetic Xpress Spray Wax and Ultimate Wax. It doesn't contain them in the same quantity though.

But if you're looking to simplify things, then Last Touch and Synth Xpress Spray Wax are a great combo. As you may know, we don't recommend using Ultimate Quik Detailer as a clay lube, but diluting Last Touch 1:1 with water makes a great clay lube. Use it straight as a mist and wipe quick detailer, followed by Synth Spray Wax and you're golden.

It depends what you're after. They are both great products and I have/use both.

You can't beat LT for performance and value for money. Plus, you can dilute it with water to make it even more economical! It leaves a beautiful rich shine and is easy to use. It doesn't have the hydrophobic properties of UQD though.

UQD is slightly easier to use and has hydrophobic polymers. It leaves behind a sealant-like shine and darkens the paint a little.

I like to have both. LT is my go-to detailer and I use UQD (M135 actually) every 3 to 4 details. If you're looking at buying in bulk, you should get LT by the gallon and M135 by the gallon - it is the professional (bulk) version of UQD.

...Add to that a gallon of Synthetic Spray Wax (UQW) on your shelf and that's pretty much all your spray detailer / spray wax needs covered!
