  • Cleaning & polishing factory coated rims

    Hi All,

Washed and waxed my car yesterday, came up well, noticed that the rims could do with a good clean, washed them with wheel cleaner, but they still look dull. what can I use to clean these up and make them shine a bit

Can you apply NXT wax to these rims?

    What do you guys do?

    Thanks

    Clarky

If you mean painted/clearcoated rims, you can clay, clean, wax them like any other paint.

I dont worry about waxing myself, but clay and clean everyone once in a while, like SwirlX, etc.

Waxing the rims, initially looks great. However due to the heat generated from the brakes, wax usually does not last very long.

What kind of rims are we talking about? Chrome? Aluminum? Clearcoated?
