Re: how to Wash meg pads?

My understanding is yes they can. But you need to be careful on how you dry them. I also have read on places like Autogeek people cleaning them on the fly and using the D/A or rotary to spin it clean right there.

There are also dedicated pad washers. I beleive Meg has a new one listed in the 2011 New Products forum.

To be honest I have read about 10 different ways to do the same thing, so expect may opinions.

Version 2.0 can be machined washed.

The originals greater care is needed. Usually you would wash them by hand.

I use a detergent that is dye and perfume free. Any brand is okay.

OMO-front loader detergent here, top results, water on 30 Celsius.

So buying a specialized "pad cleaner" product isn't necessary? I've been using - http://autogeek.net/snappytool.html - in a bucket and cleaning my pads by hand. Just as safe to throw them in the wash?

Would you put these separate from your microfiber towels?

Also got a similar question about Microfiber - I'm currently using specialized microfiber detergent in the wash. Just using a dye and fragrance free detergent will be fine?

Definitely a separate load from the towels. I just put my washer on "Extra Small" load size and wash a dozen or so pads at a time.

As for the detergent, yeah just about any detergent will work. I actually use the High Efficiency version of Woolite (in a non-HE washing machine) and it does fine for my pads and my MF towels.

Okay thanks. I'm only using a few pads at a time so it just seems weird (and kinda wasteful) to put them in alone.

Can I just wash my Microsoft towels and hand pads with just water.

I wash pads, microfibers and terry towels all at once. However, the pads aer dried alone and the terry towels and microfibers together.

Put them in warm bucket of water for couple of mins. And then wash them and then get out the dirt(if any) by rubbing with your fingers. Hand washing is the best method
