Last night i spent 4 hours in the garage polishing out a small scratch, now my wife say i should worship the cars on a fluffy feather bed and never drive them... i think im trapped in an enternal struggle ... The more careful i treat the cars, the more defects i discover over time.. last night, i found two tiny(less than 1mm) defects on my windscreen possibly caused by sand blast or some really tough bugs on the highway...
I absolutely understand what you are saying here mate. I am obsessed about my black ride too. My girl friend says some similar stuff too. People say that you can love and admire black cars from 20 feet away. But frankly, I just love my car no matter what distance. Even after I park my car, I keep on staring at it. And if its properly waxed then it gets really tough to just leave it there.

Hey guys do you think polishing process is must for a new vehicle? Coz I am planning to skip that step in my detailing process. Kindly advice

i'd say it's not really necessary. new cars r supposed to come in a pristine condition because most car factories put protective white films over exterior panels during storage and transportation to the dealers.

In many discussions on MOL you will read polishing is an optional step. Here are my considerations: is it an added expense I can/can't afford, being a noob can I make an informed product purchase, do I possess the skills to properly apply the product, do I have the tools (applicator, microfibers) to properly apply and remove the product, do I have the time and will I know the difference after applying the product.

If I believe I have the money, skills, tools and time I might do a Test Spot and compare polish versus no polish.

Of course I'm sure in my mind's eye the polished area will look a heck of a lot better!

This is my first black car and I love it. I have never spent so much time on a car as much as I do on my black pearl . Coming from a sliver car it was a nightmare at first. But now there is only one colour and its black.

I'm so picky about my ride. It is my daily drive and gets washed every 4 days without fail.

One thing. I think you have to learn to live with light swirls and a few scratches if not you will go crazy!!!
