  • Blowing water out the crevices

On the drying process, do I blow the water out the crevices (with my ShopVac) first? Or do I do the glass and paint FIRST, before this?

First, I thought I should blow the water out the crevices first, so I can get all the remaining water all-at-once. However, I also do not want the majority of the water on the paint to dry-off, causing water spots.

If you have a air hose and nozzel you can do 2 things. IMO I have always used the "Door Shutting" method which is to close doors semi hard as it helps water bleed out. The other is using the hose and I go around the car and do a section at a time. I have a MF drying towel in hand.

As long as it is not windy, or sun is on the car when it comes to these small droplets, if the car has a good wax barrier it wont dry instantly so you could even blow the whole car out and then wipe the whole car down one shot.

IMO in the end, the LAST step is windows as far as cleaning. I always find some of my Ult Quick Wax gets on there so its a good final step.

Thanks! The "door shutting" I always do that, especially for the front doors and my trunk door, to bleed the water from the crevices. This is very common especially on the crevices around the license plate, and side mirrors.

Dry it as best possible, then using compressed air/blower, chase whatever water comes out of the crevices.

It's good to do a second pass around the vehicle with the air. Usually you'll get even more water out.
