  • I just cant figure it out!!

So here is my delima. I have been detailing cars a long time and never had this problem. I have a 2004 mustang that is full of spider webs when I bought it and no matter what I do I cant get them out. I have my own detailing business and this makes me look bad!! I have used the Ultimate Compound, SwirlX, ScratchX, Cleaner wax on medium and light cutting pads and even a finishing pad and its still there except now the car looks great compared to what it looked like when I bought it. I use a rotary as I have for years and always had a awesome result. What do I do?

pics? could it be actual paint/clear coat failure where you have to get it repainted?? could be either factory defect or if a bodyshop has it , their paint defect...

check this issue on with the curren thonda civics http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/mecha...rows-feet.html

Hi guys, there is two small spots on my roof where my paint is beginning to fade :/ is there any way to fix it, or prevent it from getting any worse? Looks like the sun is starting to make it fade

He has a detailing business yet all the products he's tried are from the Consumer Line.

Your comments, no matter how subtle are better kept in that head of yours as Ill not play kid games with a person with your obvious intelligence level!!! I have always had good results with the "consumer line" and when I find a "local" place to get the stuff you apparently are so proud of then Ill start buying that. I would show you pics of the results I get with the products I use but Ill not entertain you.

The marks I have are light swirl and cobweb marks, no paint failure. I do use the meg's line of pads and I use them in the order intended, I just cant get the results I need.

ProAutoImage, I don't want to sound mean here but you have to keep it family friendly. Don't slight or insult the intelligence of other members. Now, I agree STG should not have posted what he did.

Let's try and have a conversation about the topic at hand: car care.

That being said.......the consumer products were not designed for rotary use so your results may be due in part to that.

Have you tried Swirlx on a finishing pad? How about Ultimate Compound on a finishing pad?

Your paint may be especially soft and maybe even Swirlx is too strong but Cleaner/Wax (maroon bottle) is too light. Go ahead and give Colorx a try on a yellow polishing pad at the slowest speed possible on your rotary (assuming you only have a rotary and do not have acess to a DA). See how that works.

ProAuto, I don't know if you've done this yet but I recommend finding a specific area on the car and working with Ultimate Compound by hand. Keep working it in and examining it. You can also do that with the DA. I know UC should not be used with a rotary so that may be the issue. Alternatively, you can use your rotary with M80 Speed Glaze or M105 Ultra Cut Compound. Take photos if possible and report back!

Re: I just cant figure it out!!

It is possible the rotary is just too strong. The products arent really meant for rotary use, and even if worked before, this may be when they arent.

Do you have any pics? Able to see if the swirls, etc are staying put, or if you are moving them around?

                STG and ProautoImage-

I locked this thread for now because the exchange you two had was simply not acceptable by MOL's standards and rules.

We do not allow or condone personal attacks on any level. It's really quite simple, if you don't have anything constructive to say in a polite manner, DO NOT POST.

Likewise, if someone says something inappropriate towards you, please report it to a moderator rather than snap back.

I'll unlock the thread after everyone has some time to cool off a little.

For now, I will add, none of the consumer line products are intended for rotary use, so their inability to give the results you are after may have something to do with that.
