  • Which Professional products can be used with the DA?

It's been a while since I've used the Mirror Glaze/Professional products. I can't remember, which of these can/should be used with a D/A polisher? Also, is there any point in using any of these on a D/A with the introduction of SwirlX, ScratchX 2.0, and UC?

I also have an unrelated D/A question: What is the most aggressive pad that I can safely use with the D/A? Should I mainly use the yellow polishing pad or can I step it up to a more aggressive pad? And I'm talking about if I do this and then follow-up with a less aggressive product afterwards. Thanks.

Probably easier to think of it as using:

    #9/#82, #80, #83, #205, #105. And then polishes, cleaner/waxes, waxes.

#105 is strongest, but if you dont need it, UC is a bit more PC friendly. But you may like #205 more than SwirlX for mild things, have to see.

The new 2.0 cutting pad can be used with the PC, but still want to start with a polishing pad if possible.

Thanks. Is #105 definitely going to leave some marks though that I'll have to buff out with 80/83/ScratchX 2.0 or something?

UC/#105 still have a good chance of finishing out swirl free.

The most aggressive pad we recommend using with a Dual Action Polisher is our W8207 Yellow Polishing Pad.

Great, because that is the pad I already have.

            Thanks guys.

A late model Civic, eh? Do yourself a HUGE favor and do a test spot first with SwirlX and a yellow W8207 polishing pad before jumping into the heavy duty stuff. We've seen too many late model Honda Civics and Fits with very delicate paint that is just overwhelmed by aggressive products.

Have a look at The Challenge of Delicate Paint before you jump in with M105 or UC - there is a very good chance you won't need either for your car. Now, we fully realize that not ALL newer Civics are going to have this delicate (or soft) paint, but we'd rather see you test a mild product first rather than a very aggressive one.

Water Magents with no pressure leave extremely light marks on my 2010 Honda Civic's BLACK paint. Talk about delicate.

Really? You sure that's not just water marks? This happens with mine too but it's not actually etching into the paint.

And thanks for the info Mike, it's good to know for sure. I was actually not referring to my Civic though, I detailed my friend's Ford Focus and I am going to be doing more detail work for other people I know. I have used UC on my Civic though primarily by hand and it's been fine.

Hey everyone - New here. Didn't want to make a new thread for something similar to this topic so I'ma put it here.

I also have a 08 Black Civic (SI) and had a few questions as I'm new to using a DA. I was planning on using M83 with a W8207 pad followed by M80 or M205 with some NXT following. Are those products okay with a DA? Would that be an okay route?

Instead of using another "cleaner/polish" should I follow M83 with Cleaner Wax or Pure Polish? I've heard good things about M07 on dark colors. Thanks in advance for any help.

Also which would be better to use with a DA, SwirlX or M83?
