  • New Lexus Leather Interior

New here and did a search but couldn't find any other posts on what was the best product to use to keep a brand new beige leather interior looking good. It's brand new (Lexus RX 350) so it really is not in need of cleaning yet, just want to protect it 'cause I think I'll be in for a lot of work keeping it looking new.

    Thanks,
    Joe

The Gold Class Rich Leather Aloe Cleaner and Gold Class Rich Leather Aloe Conditioner would work great for what you are doing and what I would highly recommend.

Leatherique is the standard for top of the line, however it is expensive and takes an entire day to apply.

      Hey welcome to MOL,

My grandpa has the a 2008 rx350 with beige/kinda white leather interior , the leather seats don't get too dirty so I use
      Meguiars Gold Class Leather Cleaner/Conditioner
and M40 on the dash board

^ This is what I'm talking about

Its a mild cleaner and an excellent conditioner, so its perfect for something that needs a light cleaning and a good conditioning

This is the only stuff I use on my leather interiors

Wow thanks for the quick reply's guys! That was the product that I was looking at on the site, I just wanted to be sure before I did the wrong thing. After reading here a while I realize that I didn't even know the proper way to wash the car LOL. I'm learning now.

          Thanks again!

Heres a tip, use a sock to apply the product , work it in , then wipe away any residue with a microfiber towel
10x easier than using an applicator pad

I use GC cleaner/cond works good, not a fan of the smell. Thought it would smell good like all other megs products.

Good idea with applying with a sock! I did my first wash last week with the Gold Class car wash, I was surprised how nice that stuff smells.

I have a lot of leather both around the house and in my vehicles. Some of my leather is 20 years old. I also have tan leather in my Lexus RX 330. I have found that to prevent dye transfer from jeans and belts you need to use a protection product and not a conditioner. This is like using a sealant on your paint vs. using a glaze. Both leave your paint looking nice but the sealant will protect your paint. So it does for your leather. I choose products that will give me protection against stains. I use a water based fluorocarbon protector. My $0.02.

Stay away if you have perforated leather.

I have perforated leather in my Audi and I haven't had this problem at all , we have two more cars with perforated leather and I didn't have this problem with them either

just pour a small (quarter size amount) on your applicator and spread it all over the surface (of the applicator) and then work it in.

                        This should fix the problem!

That is good advice. I use a water based vinyl protectant like 303 on all of my finished leather. If you have unfinished leather (very rare in automobiles) like my horse saddles and tack, then a conditioner is necessary.

Another vote for the GC cleaner and conditioner. Proper technique applying it on perforated leather is the key. Never had a problem using it this way.
