Good to know, thought it was a bit over board but you cant complain when the results are what your looking for. (the pros out there are extreamly under payed)

On a side note, With the Mustang, was the 205 followed by the 80 unnescesary?

...As far as your question about how long it should take - 15 hours and 8 hours respectively doesn't seem too bad. Heck, it probably would have taken me longer to perform all those steps!

I have been a long time fan of Meguiars through many years of my life. I have always done all my car work by hand and finally took the plunge to purchasing my first DA. The G110v2 has completely changed the appearance of both of my vehicles and my outlook at detailing all together.

I have been lurking around the forums for years and decided to run with the best combos for my 2 cars from your prior experiences. Of course I practiced with the DA on my wifes car before the machine ever touched the paint of my cars. (something almost preached my some members, great suggestion )

My first paint correction details took place over the last 2 weekends and I got great results. I can honestly sit back and say I dont have once scratch on my vehicles paint.

My biggest question is how long should it take for paint correction?

My first Car up was my 67 Mustang. The car was painted 5 years ago and is a weekend driver. It had many small scratches from a horrible car cover I was using. My steps were as followed (I used all Lake Country Pads)

Wash, Optimum No Rinse
M Clay Kit
M105 Orange Pad
M205 White Pad
M80 White Pad
M7 Black Pad
Gold Class Liquid Wax Blue Pad
NXT Paste Wax Blue Pad
Reflections Top Coat (yes I know)

15 hours, I did take my time since she is my baby









My second paint correction is on a 2007 Avalanche. (daily driver lots of fine scratches from long road trips etc) I went outside the box with this one. The last time I had some minor paint work done on the mustang, the body guy used M86 out of the solo line and swore by it. He even said that he did full details on older cured paint and achieved excellent results in half the time. So despite Meguiars label warning about not using a DA and not using the product on anything but fresh paint, I dove right in and was more then happy with flawless results. Can M86 replace 105&205 down the line? Very impressed with the less dusting too.
