  • left over polish on trim

Hey guys so I just picked up some Ultimate Protectant, in hopes of being able to restore the faded black trim around my truck. But before using it, I just wanted to know if this stuff removes polish that remain on the trim. Here's a few pics:

I haven't been able to remove that with product so far, so if ya have any tips let me know. Thanks

I'm not sure, maybe APC can do it.

David, you are going to want to remove the compound, wax, whatever it is you have all over your trim. If you don't any additional dressing will end up looking blotchy.

APC or M39 should do the trick.

Others have recommended peanut butter in the past, but I'd follow that up with something to remove the oil left behind.

An IPA wipedown should take care of it

Some APC and a small brush should take care of it.

I had the same problem when my cousin applied Ultimate compound all over his truck ( he thought it was wax ) the trim turned white like yours, I got great results from The gold class trim detailer. I applied it once but the whiteness came back after a couple of days so I applied it a second time and it hasn't reappeared since.

Ah I was debating between GC trim detailer and Ultimate Protectant, and just went for UP cuz it says Ultimate =). Before I go buying a gallon of APC, is there a difference between APC and APCPlus?

APC+ is stronger, doesn't foam and smells better. If you have the choice, get APC+
