  • Anyone ever work on a 2002 Jaguar?

I'm chompin' at the bit right now.

I went to the last Thursday night and played with the G110 and really enjoyed it. And the results were that the Nissan's paint cleaned up very well with UC and m205 following it.

I'm wondering if anyone has worked on a 2002 Jag S-type (my moms car) I want to know if someone would grade the paint as a soft/medium/hard before I load up on DA supplies and maybe some more UC or get m105 depending on how "hard" the paint is.

PS. The paint is in excellent condition I just want to get a little more oomf outta the shine on it. I'm not going on a complete restoration/defect removal project!

The last Jaguar I worked on was a 99, but I trust it has very similar paint.

I used SIP for the bulk of my polishing and had great results. 105/205 wouldn't bad combo to go with...that combo can be worked just how you want it to work by pad combination and technique.

If you don't need to do any correction work, I would just stick to a good cleaner polish. My personal favorite AIO product right now is D151. On a white pad it can easily polish out very light blemishes (2500+ grit blemishes). If you want something local you could look towards ColorX applied via your G110.

This is the last Jaguar I worked on: http://www.finaltouchautodetail.com/99-xj8-jaguar.html

If you have more specific questions, I'd be glad to answer them.

From the sound of it though (with your saying it has excellent paint), I'd probably just do ColorX followed up by M26.

Thanks FTD. The paint only has micro-swirls so thats nothing compared to my Nissan(black). But because we have a lady driver we got a good amount of work on the top of the bumper. And plus the cars a pearl between dark blue and dark green. So it doesnt show flaws nearly as bad as my black.
When I get around to it I'll do some before and after's. The paint already "pops" as it is so I'm looking for show car
