  • adding quick detailer to Wash??

    Hello everyone,

I have read from Meguiar's that the Quik Detailer line is meant for maintaining the surface after wash.

I am wondering if I can spray some of the QD/UQD into the 5 gallons of water+carwash? Then everytime when move the mitt from bucket to car, I am applying some QD onto the car as well. Have anyone tried that before? Will there be "some kind of" improvement on car surface if I wash like this?

Thanks! I ask because I can only quick detail my Nissan which is a mid-size 4 door sedan twice by one bottle of QD product... Thats kind of expensive to do in long run... (What is the proper way of applying QD?)

It would get way to diluted to do anything mixed in the water.

I think what you want is some Ultimate Wash n'Wax. That will leave some wax behind all in one step.

The other option would be to dry with some QD/UQD misted over the paint.

You should be able to get more than 2 uses from a bottle, I think you are using way to much. That being said pick up a gallon of m135 and it's pretty cheap

        Use the QD while drying.

You are using WAY more quick detailer than is necessary. For a normal sized panel I use 1-2 squirts and that is generally more than enough.

This is what I do, however I use Last Touch (1 gal. from the Detailer line).
Just a few shots while using the Water Magnet, does wonders for eliminating water spots. If you always wash your vehicles well, prior to drying, you don't need to wash your Water Magnet too often. The Water Magnet will end up impregnated with detailer.

You can do the same thing with a microfiber during the final drying phase. A little goes a long way.

All that is needed is a light mist over a section. You are using way to much product.

Every couple of washes, I use the ultimate wash and wax. The easiest way to lay some wax on your vehicle.

I meant QD as any spray detailer I now use Last Touch too, as that is the only QD I have left besides M135. I've finally gotten my spray detailer stash down to two, lmao.
