  • Using a pure polish for the first time

I've always used cleaner waxes or AIO products to prep for wax, I've never used a pure polish before. I am thinking of trying #5 new car or #7 show car glaze to really get a great shine before sealing it in. I was wondering:

    1. Will pure polishes stain trim?

    2. Are there any major differences as far as looks between #5 and #7?

After searching the forum, it seems show car glaze seems to be the most widely used but I can't find much info on people who have used #5. Thanks in advance

I have used #7 recently and it does not stain at all. I'm not much of a #5 fan but only because #7 looks so much better to me.
Am i obsessed?? A car is the second biggest financial investment for most people, why not keep it looking better than new?

Thanks gmitch, I was hoping to hear that it doesn't stain trim. I think I will go with the show car glaze too since it's the most preferred.

It wont be as bad as a wax, but dont cake it on your molding. Though you should be wiping your polish off pretty quickly anyway.

I have used them both. Living in a humid area, #5 is the way to go. Up in your part of the country, I would go with #7.
