I have a nice Makita grinder 9523nbh. Is there a way I can use it as a buffer polisher? Are there adapters or attachments?

In case you haven't picked up on it yet, the answer is no haha. It has too high of rpm's
I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.
I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
Remove swirls my friends.

Hey Ralph, Welcome!
As others have said; a grinders rpm is generally too fast for compounding and polishing work but there are exceptions to that rule. I don't know anything about your machine so the first thing that comes to mind; is it a variable speed unit and if so what's its slowest rpm?BobbyG

Ok, You guys got me good on this one. I guess I'll have to rob the piggybank and find a nice buffer. Will the ones priced around $200 do a good job with fine scratches left by the final sanding. I'm assuming the $30.00 ones in the auto stores will only give us more to laugh about. LOL

Re: Converting Makita Grinder to Buffer
It depends what your going to use your buffer for. Are you a weekend warrior or a hardcore paint polisher??? I have both $30 cheapys and $300+ polishers. The $30 buffers are great for the weekend warrior. If your going to polish more than once or twice a month step up to a at least a $200+ buffer.
